Advantan cream relieves the redness, swelling, itching and irritation of the skin in eczema and psoriasis.

Therapeutic actions of methylprednisolone aceponate:
The active ingredient in Advantan cream belongs to the group of medicines called corticosteroids. The corticosteroid in Advantan cream is suitable to put on the skin. Methylprednisolone aceponate is therefore called a topical corticosteroid, which is sometimes shortened to topical steroid.

What is Methylprednisolone aceponate used for:
• Eczema (a skin condition with redness, swelling, oozing of fluid, crusting and later scaling. It is often very itchy)
• Psoriasis( a skin disorder with raised, rough, reddened areas covered with dry, fine, silvery scales)

Contraindications and cautions while taking Methylprednisolone aceponate:
Do not use Advantan cream if you have an allergy to:
• any medicine containing methylprednisolone aceponate
• any of the ingredients listed at the end of this leaflet (see Product description).
• any other similar medicine, that is, topical corticosteroids
Do not use Advantan cream if in the area of skin you are treating:
• tuberculosis (TB) or syphilis
• a virus such as chicken-pox or shingles
• a skin reaction following a vaccination
Do not use Advantan cream if you have acne, perioral dermatitis.
Tell your doctor if you:
• are pregnant or plan to become
• are breast-feeding or plan to breastfeed
Advantan cream should be used only on the skin. Avoid getting Advantan cream in your eyes. Do not put Advantan cream in your mouth. Do not swallow Advantan cream.

Interactions of Methylprednisolone aceponate with other drugs: It is important to tell your doctor or pharmacist what medicines you are already taking, including those bought without a prescription and herbal medicines, before you start treatment Methylprednisolone aceponate. Similarly, check with your doctor or pharmacist before taking any new medicines while taking this one, to ensure that the combination is safe.
