This medication is used in combination with other medications to treat seizure disorders (epilepsy). Levetiracetam has been shown to decrease the number of seizures in adults and children with a certain type of seizure (partial onset).
Levetrol is an antiepileptic drug. Levetrol is indicated with other drugs to treat certain types of seizures.
Levetrol works by decreasing abnormal excitement in the brain.
Levetrol is indicated in combination with other medications to treat certain types of seizures in people with epilepsy.
Levetrol is in a class of drugs called anticonvulsants.
Levetrol Contraindications
Levetrol is contraindicated if you have any of the following conditions:
Kidney disease;
Suicidal thoughts, plans, or attempt a previous suicide attempt by you or a family member;
An unusual or allergic reaction to Levetrol, other drugs, foods, dyes, or preservatives;
Pregnant or trying to get pregnant;
Breast-feeding;
Tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to Levetrol or any other medications.
Tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and nonprescription medications, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal products you are taking. Your doctor may need to change the doses of your medications or monitor you carefully for side effects.
Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had kidney disease.
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. If you become pregnant while taking Levetrol, call your doctor. Do not breastfeed while you are taking Levetrol.

Allergic reactions like skin rash, itching or hives, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue;

Breathing problems;

Dark urine;

General ill feeling or flu-like symptoms;

Problems with balance, talking, walking;

Unusually weak or tired;

Worsening of mood, thoughts or actions of suicide or dying;

Yellowing of the eyes or skin;

Diarrhea;

Dizzy, drowsy;

Headache;
-
Loss of appetite;
-
Drowsiness.
